Soccer, Kickball and Balls of Wonder
Thursday, June 17, 2010 It's been two months since my last entry. No I am not neglecting my blog. I've just been incredibly busy. I hit the table with a full set of cards. I thank God for his blessings in giving me many unexpected opportunities in a time when I am in most need. I thank those who believed in my work and what I am trying to accomplish. Only time will tell for just how long I'll go. But I've taken steps to ensure no failure. One must keep moving, always- in order to reach great lengths through time.
We live in a time of social despair among people. Cuidad Juarez has become a death trap due to the violent outrages of the cartels and drug trade. Talks of legalization have surfaced across the board, whether it be person or plant. There is no right answer so I offer only hope that good choices in the end are made. I am proud to be American, though I admit not as proud as others. Life to me is everywhere and not confined to bordered lands. So baby Fifa was born just ten minutes into the start of the 2010 world cup. She comes from an underdeveloped south african nation whose only hope to salvation is a game like soccer. And I, only a spectator in a local kickball game proud of their newest participant for all that we went through... still found the courage to slide into base knowing all she was to find was a ball of wonder.
