    Dead or Alive

    It’s time to let go.

    Dear heart.

    Let’s run away together...

I could almost feel his touch.

A cold like no other cold.
Why do you refuse to aid me?

    Slowly...

You are my one and only companion.

My wife? Where is she? Where are those I love? and these flowers...

They bare my name... and they're all dead. Who else is dead? My loved ones, are they... without me? I see no signs of life in this room. The light bares a likeness of a cold death waving at me beyond the waves expiring in this night. All I can really see or feel is my heartbeat now.  < Cough > < Cough >

This darkness I've called home for many years seems to crawl away from me as the sun sets and still fairly illuminates the room in which I lay. My hands, my arms, my legs... I can’t move. They're all still as amber. It's a still stale life... as it was. The cieling walls are stained by years of ventillation and the sounds beyond the window feedback too strong and unusual. Sounds of rumbles and whistles and the like deepen in within me like nothing at all like back home.

Where am I? Alive... Dead... Angel or Demon? Cold or Alone. This room is much too familiar... the random taxi driver in the city. Light creeps away through those window shades bring forth a likeness and familiarity to the suns rays.... which I had almost forgot. I reach my limber arms about as if I could reach this light. But my limbs become heavy and fall to the floor.

This evening I wake from a dream of nothing but eternal bliss. In the darkness of my sleep I was well, I was resting in peace. This day I awaken from my dire coma to scents of staleness and decay. So acute are my senses that I choose life over death. Yet, Death lingers still in this room. Pacing back and forth as if waiting for something...

    Something owed.
